The Bible and Deliberate Injustices!
"Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. (Ezekiel 16:49)
Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless. (Isaiah 10:1-2)
This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow. If you do not obey these commands, declares the LORD, I swear by myself that this palace will become a ruin. (Jeremiah 22: 3 and 5)
Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same. (Luke 3: 11)
Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? (James 2:15-16)
Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Luke 6:31)."
