Debunking the Homeschooling children can't go to college myth and lack of respect towards the people who keep the lights on!

I kept hearing this theme, over and over from the lady who runs the homeschooling program in the Rochester Public School Corporation - Independent School District #535 when we signed the kids out of their school's.

The thing is, I had already done extensive research on the subject and  I have detailed knowledge of the fact that homeschool kids can go to college, often do and many times are as is or more successful than their public school counterparts.

This was from an email I received inviting us to an event were a meeting and training event was going to take place on this very subject.

Lynn Norby, to help us during our discussion on this topic.

Lynn is a veteran home school Mom, who started the MCGT Homeschool Chapter and STAR Academy. She has 4 grown children whom she homeschooled (some part-time and some full-time).
Her children have each gone on to very successful college careers (including Notre Dame, the U of MN, and SJU). Lynn has very helpful information and examples for putting together a homeschool transcript necessary for college admissions.
The lady quite literally must have repeated it 25 times and before finally giving me the paper I needed to sign and turn into the school corporation making our declaration to the superintendent within 15 days.
I hate people, who when they speak to you, act like the words coming out of their mouths are the "words of God" and you must down down and start kissing the very feet they walk on.

I, even in my research, have found many websites similar to education-portal.com (link),
which offer online courses anyone can and test out on with accredited exams, accepted by thousands of colleges nation wide.

I expected this treatment, as the majority of the people we have encountered at the administration building so far have been very high strung and really have serious "God" complexes that need to be addressed.
If you do not give them the respect they demand regardless of whether or not they deserve it, you run into serious problems as we did, as they get off on control and conformity, and bucking this trend does not fit their narrow minded, robot like view of life.

I know how bad public school's are in America.
The local educator's know the lasting destructive effects' of "No Child Left Behind" and now, "Common Core" that is being implanted right now.
Even teacher's I know personally, who communicate with me on Facebook regularly, weren't surprised when they read the blog/ Facebook posts and were told about the shitty, unethical, harassing things local school administrator's kept doing to us.
They, as teacher's have experienced a lot of the same unethical, unprofessional, ill willed driven, malicious behaviors from those directly above them.

"In life, your either part of the answer, or part of the problem", many in school administration create the problems and hinder, easy, almost common sense solutions to many of the common problems great teachers face who actually care.

Treatment like what we experienced is not unique.
Very bad school leadership is following the same template all across the country, and this, like with daily egregious American civil right's violations seen in the press, people are educating themselves and saying in mass, "we are not going to take this shit anymore".

Educator's need to remember this key fact.

You use local property tax dollars, federal/ state treasury funds allotted to you through various funding scheme's, so I, as a federal. state and local tax payer, American citizen and active voter are one of your many bosses you work for...
