Another Personal Attack, Severe Violations of Minnesota State (D.O.E.) I.E.P. law, McKinney-Vento Act, Americans With Disabilities Act!
In a phone call with Rochester Minnesota Schools leaders, Executive Director of Student Support Services Karla Bollesen and Asst. Superintendent Brenda Lewis, Lewis takes a unneeded and nasty swipe at my wife and clearly violates the A.D.A. and the McKinney-Vento Act in one tactless, severely unprofessional and immature comment.
A comment was made by the extremely unprofessional Lewis about our time constraints and the district offering a van/ cab to pick us up as we lack a running car right now.
The nasty Mrs. Lewis makes the comment, that basically is it your poorness or lack of income that you need this ride?
When I heard this, I was like, WTF? Are you serious? She neither Bollesen made any effort to take into consideration our unique transportation arrangement, heavy schedule of doctors and other important appointments and just once again felt a need to take another personal shot at us.
In the middle of this school mess, we are also actively engaging the county for serious failures and the local SSI offices that both have made errors, yet neither one will fix them.
This seems to be a Rochester Minnesota thing. Good ole' boy system, FUBAR up the situation and then silence or attack those who want the mess fixed like yesterday.
It's a serious chronic problem here.
The rescheduled times for the new I.E.P. meetings have never been properly negotiated as Minnesota Board of Education laws and regulations require.
Instead, the parents get a letter from Mrs. Bollesen stating that the meetings will happen on a certain date, that if we the parents don't accept and comply, the meetings will go forth without our attendance.
This very idea violates state I.E.P. law and makes any I.E.P. that comes out of this meeting null and void.
It also doesn't give us the fair chance to challenge the endless amount of needless people added to these meetings.
They also threatened to automatically deny our disabled children services based off their illegal activities.
There also is due process for requesting certain people not be at the meeting and that has not been allowed at all during this process.
This very notion is illegal and against state law here in Minnesota.
All of the people we have contacted and now on our team were shocked they would send such an illegal, and immoral letter. Our comment is the same one every time. At no point in this process have they played fair or followed the law.
The mantra or theme here is that the school corp. is above the law and federal laws or state educational laws don't mean sh@t here. It's tyranny at its best.
Quite literally we are God, the educators, always 100%, get back in your place or we will threaten, harass, intimidate and even send a letter openly denying you your civil rights and any involvement in your kids education.
Just insanity, lack of compromise or decency and a total control play on every level.
All they have shown me is they don't understand the power and strength of parents love and wanting their kids to have the best education possible.
They haven't made people go away or quiet down, they have only pushed them to do more and bring others into the fold who now have intimate knowledge of the situation.
My goal here is simple. To educate the world about the obvious educational crimes going on here in Rochester, Minnesota and bring attention to a serious problem that didn't change from one administration to another.
When the only base of their argument is a pissed of phone call and email that had curse words in it, you really have nothing. No cussing on school grounds, to blow up moments at a school, no threats, nothing of this nature ever happened.
Just a parent getting mad that he was obviously getting ignored. Phone calls were being screened or not being returned. Continuous mistakes and no accountability. No respect from anyone at the school corp. at any part of this process. You'd get mad to if you wanted the best for your child and people weren't doing their jobs. Then when you call them out, they point the finger at you and push the blame your way for their serious failures.
Just a few good parents, who know the rules and want them followed.
Educators too good to hit reply on a few emails or even answer or return phone calls.
No accountability for several major screw-ups and a continuous push to put the blame on the parent's who have done nothing wrong.
Even educators at certain schools are not directly contacting the parents for important needs or situations under a NAZI like gag order from the Superintendent Michael Munoz himself. Don't go on Twitter, Facebook and even your own website sir and lie to the whole world about wanting parents and family inclusion when as in our situation you have shut all lines of normal communication down.
Hitler, Putin and/ or Castro would be proud.
Nothing American, open about this process, everything tight lipped and Communist like.
Whom is the touchy, angry, threatening out of control guy now Mr. Munoz?
I think it's the guy on a crazy power trip, not taking the high road, not respecting parental rights, not respecting the rights of local tax payers, not respecting the rights and concerns of kids in the district, just an utter, maniacal absolute control freak.
I'm a man of God, a devout believer and I personally don't see the GOD in any of this.
For a man that touts his religious, humble, poor upbringing and open communicative style, neither has been present in this whole ordeal.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely and everything about the process to get our kids a quality education has been a corrupt, nightmare full of incompetence and screw-ups.
NOTHING good has come out of this experience at all, and I imagine nothing good ever will, sadly....
